KINDRED

I don't remember loosing you
When did you pack your bags?
Close the door, walk away,
Drive down the street, mad.

I didn't even notice
The void you left behind,
I wonder if you can tell
What's been on my mind.

Your absence has made me
Understand what I need,
Understand that I need you
And to cry on your sleeve.

It all became apparent
When the mirror spoke to me,
I saw your face, your distaste
And realised you were me.

Oh, what a day to remember
A poignant moment in time,
To understand that my loss
Was no-ones fault but mine.

So, I'll unpack my bags
Clean out all the webs,
Then sit alone in bath bubbles
To ponder over what I've said.
